ODMD’s history dates back to 1891 when William Sanders Davies, who was born in Liverpool, England in 1862, moved to New York and began practicing accounting. With roots in the UK, William brought a history of dealing with US subsidiaries of overseas companies to the firm, one of the firm’s current specialties.  Two of the more notable clients were the Furnest Withy Steamship Company and The New York Yankees.  A member of the Davies family has been a senior partner at the firm for over 11 decades.

In 1947, Ed O’Connor established a public accounting firm that specialized in real estate and construction, where he was an expert.

In the 1950s, Robert Davies began expanding the firm’s now thriving international and not-for-profit practices.

In 1953, Edward “Ted” Munns handled an assignment for designing and implementing a new accounting system for a charitable community-based organization and thus began a long career of providing services to these types of organizations.

In the 1960’s, Tom Dobbins joined Ted Munns and introduced computer processing for patient bills and accounting for religious orders and nursing home facilities.

In 2004, Bennett Kielson Storch and DeSantis merged with O’Connor Davies Munns & Dobbins to significantly expand its Government services practice.

Throughout its history, ODMD has emphasized smart growth while providing expert services in a variety of industries. Today, ODMD is a full-service accounting and consulting firm whose hallmark is client service.
